Click the Indicators button on the chart toolbar. The list that opens has three parts: Sets at the top, Show on this chart with the Drawings and Trades buttons, and Indicators, one checkbox per indicator on the chart.
Show or hide one indicator
Untick an indicator to hide it, tick it to show it again. A hidden indicator stays on the chart with all its settings, so nothing reloads when you bring it back.
All on and All off, at the bottom of the list, change every indicator at once.
Indicator sets
A set is a named list of indicators to show. Click a set and Indicator Toggle shows those indicators and hides the rest. The set that matches what is on the chart right now is highlighted.
Starter sets
Four sets come ready for our own indicators:
- Signals shows WiSE.
- Structure shows StructureScope and WiSE.
- Levels shows SweepScope.
- Clean hides every indicator.
A starter set appears only when one of its indicators is on the chart. Clean is always there.
Save your own set
- Tick the indicators you want in the set.
- Click + Save set.
- Type a name, up to 40 characters.
- Pick all charts or this chart only, then click Save.
A set for all charts is saved in Documents\NinjaTrader 8\templates\IndicatorToggle\sets.txt and shows on every chart that has Indicator Toggle. A set for this chart only is saved with the chart, so it travels with the workspace or chart template. Saving under a name that already exists replaces that set. You can keep up to 50 sets.
To remove a set, click + Save set, type the set's name and click Delete. This works for starter sets too. Cancel closes the box without changes.
A set remembers each indicator by the name shown on the chart, without the instrument and bar period, so a set saved on ES 5 minute also works on NQ 2000 tick. If you later change an indicator's parameters, the set still finds it by its indicator name.
Hide or show all with the hotkey
Press Ctrl+Shift+H to hide every indicator on the chart. Press it again and the ones that were on come back. The hotkey acts on the chart tab that is open in the window you are using.
To change it, open the chart's Indicators window, select Indicator Toggle and edit Hide or show all hotkey under Setup. Use a combination with Ctrl or Alt, such as Ctrl+Alt+T. Leave the box empty to turn the hotkey off.
Hide drawings and trade markers
New in version 1.1.0.
- Drawings hides the drawings you drew on the chart: lines, rectangles, text and the rest. Drawings that an indicator makes belong to that indicator, so hide the indicator instead.
- Trades hides the trade markers, the Plot executions setting of each data series in the chart's Data Series window.
Click the same button again and you get back exactly what was hidden. A drawing you had already hidden yourself stays hidden, and each data series gets its own Plot executions setting back. Indicator Toggle saves this with the chart, so it still works after F5 or a NinjaTrader restart.
Sets do not include drawings or trades. If Trades says the markers are already off, Plot executions is already off in the Data Series window.
